"I never thought I could be comfortable with a pet sitter. When Tara came to our house for a consultation, my husband and I were amazed at how our rescued beagles, Romeo and Juliet, immediately took to her. Tara treats our pets as if they were her very own. It is extremely comforting to know that Tara is caring for our family, maintaining their routine, and minimizing our stress. THANK YOU!"

Meet Tara

Tara began her Naval career in Norfolk. Her 25 years of duty took her literally all over the world and included several tours in Norfolk, during which she lived in Larchmont, Ghent, Tazewell Place, and the Norfolk Naval Station. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Pennsylvania where she was recruited to become the first Wellness Director at Frederick Living Retirement Community. Four years later, Tara decided to extend her passion for wellness to pets, by providing a service that would give pet owners peace of mind as well as provide their pets with quality care and exercise.

Having always dreamt of returning to Norfolk, Tara decided to make it happen! She now lives in Historic Colonial Place with her two dogs Morgan and Wolfie. A life-long pet owner and lover, Tara has personal experience with and compassion for both senior and special needs pets. She strongly believes that a good pet sitter is competent and communicative, as well as reliable, ethical, and insured. She is a certified professional pet sitter with both Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and holds Pet CPR and First Aid certifications. She is a member of the Colonial Place Riverview Civic League and the Ghent Business Association.

Tara’s guarantee is to lovingly and safely care for your pet by providing personalized pet services that adapt to your lifestyle, and ensure your complete peace of mind.
