Summer car rides and fun activities such as swimming, camping, and outdoor games and exercise can result in danger for your pets. Keep your pets safe during all of this outdoor fun:
Beware the Danger of a Hot Car
Never leave your pet in the car on a hot summer day. Even with open windows or a shady parking space, a car can easily heat up to more than 100 degrees in as little as ten minutes. Your pet will quickly become overheated, which can lead to brain damage or death.
Stay Hydrated!
Whether long or short haired, most pets are covered in insulating fur. Add this to hot temperatures and outdoor activities, such as hiking and it becomes easy to overheat. To cool down and stay hydrated, be sure to give your pet lots of clean, fresh water. Take extra water bottles on your excursions and be sure to bring a travel water bowl so your pet can drink conveniently.
Fleas and Ticks
Fleas and ticks thrive in the hot weather of late summer when your pet spends more time outside – becoming a delicious host for these pests to make their new home. Prevent an infestation before it starts by making sure your pet is treated with flea and tick repellents.
You are doing a great job at your blog, man. I have been always a reader of your blog.
